But whenever we see things done wildly, but taken tamely, then the State is growing insane.
– G. K. Chesterton, The Mad Official, A Miscellany of Men, 1927
Tonight on the heels of the challenge by the State of North Carolina against enforcement of a bathroom policy law that threatens the normal privacy of men, women and children, the 44th President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama II issued the following intentions late this Thursday evening…
A “sweeping directive” is forewarned to be issued later today by the President, as reported by the New York Times, which states:
The letter to school districts that will go out Friday describing what they should do to ensure that none of their students are discriminated against, signed by officials of the Justice Department and Department of Education, does not have the force of law. But it contains an implicit threat: Schools that do not abide by the Obama administration’s interpretation of the law could face lawsuits or a loss of federal aid. – U.S. Directs Public Schools to Allow Transgender Access to Restrooms, Julie Hirshfeld Davis and Matt Apuzzo, New York Times, May 12, 2016
The full article can be read here. Yes, this is madness. A mad line, in a growing list of mad lines has been crossed by this government. It brings to mind another of Chesterton’s works, Eugenics and Other Evils: An Argument Against the Scientifically Organized State. In the seventh chapter of that book, A Summary of a False Theory, Chesterton boldly states what can only describe what has happened to our government at this moment in time as it relies on Science to inform its mandates and decrees…
“In the third chapter I seek to describe the quite extraordinary atmosphere in which such things have become possible. I call that atmosphere anarchy; but insist that it is an anarchy in the centres where there should be authority. Government has become ungovernable; that is, it cannot leave off governing. Law has become lawless; that is, it cannot see where laws should stop. The chief feature of our time is the meekness of the mob and the madness of the government.”
Yes! All this strangeness, this madness from the past 7 plus years from this present administration is pointing not only to insanity but to an anarchy of government where there should be a god-appointed but relative authority. And, in turn, it points to our own meekness in allowing it to do so without impedance. The time has come, perhaps it is more than passed the time, to recognize that we have been on the other end of where money is held like a gun against your head with the trigger ready to be pulled. The threat is against our children, our mothers and sisters, our decency and our morality if we don’t cave. Ultimately, the gun of money is being held against our faith in God. Our meekness is the wrong kind of meekness. It is not healthy submission to God if we continue to acquiesce. It is “…the meekness of the mob” in the face of “the madness of the government.”
It is time to take a stand for Christ. They can take the federal support. God will provide for us.
“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand.…” (Ephesians 6: 11-13)
